  13. I have just got on the icon-group list, mainly to learn more about the 
  14. language.  I have been using Snobol4 for many years, mainly for 
  15. string manipulation and parsing, and am quite happy with it.  My 
  16. question is:  Should I consider switching to Icon and, if so, what 
  17. strengths and capabilities would Icon give me over Snobol4?  Please 
  18. try to avoid the philosophical arguments of one over the other (which 
  19. are as many as there are users of the languages!).  Thanks in 
  20. advance for your input.
