Subject: Snobol4 or Icon?

I have just got on the icon-group list, mainly to learn more about the
language. I have been using Snobol4 for many years, mainly for
string manipulation and parsing, and am quite happy with it. My
question is: Should I consider switching to Icon and, if so, what
strengths and capabilities would Icon give me over Snobol4? Please
try to avoid the philosophical arguments of one over the other (which
are as many as there are users of the languages!). Thanks in
advance for your input.
